The meaning of the art of photography is getting lost in translation.
Basically, the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival had a photo contest. The judges, including the Globe and Mail's writer Ian Brown, all decided that with more than 500 entries, there were no winners. There were technically well done images, some beautiful images, but in terms of actually having images that told a story, none. This is arguably a bit extreme, but it's an interesting article and speaks to the culture of PHOTOGRAPH EVERYTHING! that we seem to be experiencing these days.

It's an interesting read and gives some good food for thought. And I'll just point out that while each of the photos above may not specifically tell a story with a beginning, middle and an end, it's a good start to have photos that tell even a part of a story that means SOMEthing to SOMEone.
